School Procedures

To minimise interruptions to student learning parents are reminded that if they need to give a message to their child, or drop off lunch or books or anything else to their child they should come to the office first. The child will be called to come and get the message etc.

Parents are also reminded that if they are called to pick up a sick child or take a child home early they MUST come to the office and sign the child out of the school.

Parents/guardians must not go to the classroom during school hours without signing at the office first.

School begins at 9am so please endeavour to have your child at school before this time. Children who are late disrupt the class and miss important information. Latecomers must report to the office before going to the classroom.

Absences

You must advise the school of your child’s absence by either calling the Office on 9309 7626 or by writing a note.
Details required are:
-Number of days your child was absent
-Reason for the absence
If your child is absent, the school will phone to obtain details of the absence if you haven’t advised the school.
If you are going on extended holidays with your child you MUST notify the office and sign a form stating how long they will be absent to hold their place in the school.
Please contact us if your child is likely to be absent for an extended period of time.

Every Day Counts

It is very important that students attend school every day.

There is no safe number of days for missing school- each day a student misses puts them behind, and can affect their educational outcomes.

If you’re having attendance issues with your child, please let your classroom teacher know so we can work together to get your child to school every day.

It is important that children have a good pattern of attending school every day, even in the early. We are going to start showing the attendance rate of each grade for the month in our newsletters. We are aiming for 95-100% attendance.
