Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day

On Friday, Bethal Primary School students participated in Clean Up Australia Day for schools.

All students worked together after lunch to clean up and the school yard and the areas surrounding the school grounds.

Students then sorted the waste they found into different categories – rubbish, recyclable and compostable – and placed the waste into the correct bin.

Classes have spent the week learning about the different types of waste, how waste impacts the natural environment and how to create a ‘Nude Food’ lunch.

Here are some ways you can continue this great work at home with your family:

Every time you go for a walk, go to the playground or shops take a plastic bag with you to collect any rubbish you see on the ground.

Refer to the Hume City Councils website for information about your waste disposal options and what you can put in each of your bins.
